Get involved on Sunday mornings!
Please join us in volunteering for our parish as well as the community at large. We believe deeply in helping others and would love to have your help! Each mission has a person listed you may contact for more information.
Ushers
Contact Charlie Waggoner
Ushers greet worshippers as they enter the church, presenting them with a bulletin for the service and, as necessary, escorting them to a seat. We also collect and present the offering, assist the congregation during communion, and straighten up the sanctuary after each service.
Acolytes
Acolytes assist in worship by carrying the processional cross, lighting candles, and assisting the clergy at the altar.
Welcoming Team - Greeters
Contact Hilda Schmidt
As part of the Welcoming Team, the Greeters’ ministry is to welcome current parishioners, as well as guests, to our beautiful church on Sundays prior to and after the church services. We answer any questions and help them feel welcomed and comfortable. We also ensure that all members have name tags so they can be greeted by name.

Altar Guild and Altar Flowers
Altar Guild Director: Jeanne Kosciuk
Flower Ministry Contact: Mary Ellen Morgan at 203-272-7991
Altar Guild is no longer the elder women of the church wearing white gloves. Consider joining Altar Guild, where you will grow spiritually and serve your church community with a great group of men and women. And teenagers can earn community service hours.
Your creative ideas are welcome as you help prepare the sanctuary for weekly services as well as for weddings, baptisms, funerals and holidays. As a member of Altar Guild, you will share responsibility for the care of the altar, its linens, vessels, vestments, candles and flowers. With three rotating groups, your commitment is minimal and your children are welcome. The groups decide together when they would like to meet, respecting everyone’s schedules.
Coffee Ministry
All St. Peter’s members are invited to host our coffee hour! Our members are scheduyled in teams to work together on this vital hospitality ministry. This social time is often the first chance newcomers have to meet parishioners and gives everyone an opportunity to catch up and socialize.
