Cemetery, Grounds and Gardens

Contact Sam Dunlop

St. Peter’s Cemetery was founded in 1767 – almost 250 years ago. It is the peaceful resting place for many generations of St. Peter’s families. The cemetery includes both the traditional burial ground, and the beautiful Memorial Garden for the interment of ashes. The Memorial Garden has no limit on interments. There are limited lots available in the cemetery.

Anyone planning a cemetery burial or interment is urged to consider making a purchase.

Adjacent to the cemetery is our healing prayer garden, a place set aside for quiet prayer and meditation.

Coffee Ministry

Contact Marj Chapman

Our team plans and hosts our “coffee and” after each Sunday service – from about 9 to 11 am. This social time is often the first chance newcomers have to meet parishioners and gives everyone an opportunity to catch up and socialize.

Hospitality
Wendy Ciaburri  203.314.2791

Our mission is to provide food, refreshment, hospitality and fellowship for our parishioners and guests at receptions after baptisms, musical events, special meetings and funerals. We are the hands of God’s boundless love. Join us if you enjoy:

  • making people feel welcome to the church
  • baking
  • serving food and drink
  • being a host/hostess
Women's Faith Sharing

Formerly known as Mothers and Others, we welcome anyone who identifies as a woman — with or without children – gathering in a supportive and safe environment, sharing our walk in faith through reading, conversation, prayer, and lots of laughter. Our gatherings often involve a book discussion but are sometimes simply for fellowship. We meet weekly during the school year in the church library. Please join us.

Prayer Team
Contact Suki Gadwa

We support members of our faith community, and their extended families and friends, in times of illness, loss, or any kind of difficulty.

Quilters

Contact Audrey Notation

We make quilts in thanksgiving for members of the parish and for those in need of prayers. We also present quilts to baptismal families and individuals. The Quilters have had another successful year – presenting quilts to twenty people and seven to baptismal candidates. This year is this ministry’s twenty-second year.

Please consider joining us on Thursday mornings in the St. Peter’s parish hall. Long-term commitment is not necessary – come once, come often. Sewing ability is not required. Please stop by. For more information.

Donations of money, fabric store cards or fabric are appreciated. We thank the ECW and several other parishioners for donations. The printed fabric is cotton or cotton/poly, 72 inches long and 42 inches wide. For children we make a quilt 45 – 54 inches long and 42 inches wide. The backing fleece is of a coordinating color, usually 54 inches wide. We often find our fabrics at JoAnn Fabrics.

Welcoming Team -- Greeters

Contact Hilda Schmidt

As part of the Welcoming Team, the Greeters’ ministry is to welcome current parishioners, as well as guests, to our beautiful church on Sundays prior to and after the church services. We answer any questions and help them feel welcomed and comfortable. We also ensure that all members have name tags so they can be greeted by name.
