Annual Meeting and Election of Leaders

Dear Friends,
Notice is hereby given that the 262nd Annual Parish Meeting of St. Peter’s Church, Cheshire, CT will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 10:30 am in the Parish Hall.

We will have one worship service – a Rite II Eucharist at 9 am. We will then gather in the parish hall for coffee and “goodies”, and then begin the annual meeting promptly at 10:30 am.

The Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for all members of the congregation to receive reports about our parish life and programs and to elect parish officers and members of the Vestry. This year you will also be asked to approve Amendments to St. Peter’s Parish By-Law VIII to read as follows:

Section 2: All Parish or Vestry meetings may be conducted in person or by any means of audio or visual systems by which all participants may simultaneously communicate with each other during the meeting. An individual participating in a Parish meeting by means of audio or visual systems that permit simultaneous communication with the other participants shall be deemed to be present at the meeting

Section 3: The Rector (or Priest-in-Charge), the two Wardens, and the Treasurer shall serve as an Executive Committee, and shall hold meetings as needed. The Rector, with the assistance of the Wardens and Treasurer, shall set the agenda for the Vestry meetings.

These amendments were approved by the Vestry on October 17, 2022 and require parish approval at the 2022 Annual Meeting.

1. A list of Responsibilities and Guidelines for Elected Officers.
2. A document with a complete list of offices to be filled
3. A nomination form for nominations from members*
4. A list of Members Entitled to Vote. (to come)

When available, please review the Members Entitled to Vote list to make sure that your name is included. If your name has been inadvertently omitted, please contact the Parish Administrator by email at office@stpeterscheshire.org or phone at 203-272-4041.

I hope that all who consider St. Peter’s their spiritual home will attend this important meeting. We have much to celebrate and much to look forward to in the future.

*When submitting nominations, please note the following considerations:
a. Only persons whose names are on the list of voting members are eligible for nomination.
b. Nomination forms must be completed and returned to the parish office on or before Sunday, January 22, 2022.
