From Sandy, Our Priest, and Rector of St. Peter's:
Welcome to St. Peter's Episcopal Church. If you have driven driven by in the fall you might recognize us as “the pumpkin church”. We are also known as the “red brick church” at the crossroads.
What you may not yet know is that this is a place of prayer, a place where we celebrate together the joys and sorrows of life in the presence of a deeply loving God.
Our liturgy is rich with wonderful music, sights and sounds. We welcome children of all ages and invite them to be a part of our worship experience, participating in every aspect of the liturgy as acolytes, readers, ushers, choristers and worshippers in the pews.
Between the services we have a forum and coffee hour while youth and children attend their programs. The forums are interactive and lively with plenty of time for questions and answers.
It is our belief that for adults, as well as youth who wish to participate, learning happens best when they can engage the questions they are interested in. For that reason we strive to create a learning community rather than engaging outside lecturers although we do on occasion engage “experts” in a particular field to come and teach.
While the adults are engaged in the forum children and young people are involved in their own Christian education programs. (See children and youth ministries)
Please feel free to be in touch with us if you have any further questions. You can call the church office and ask for Kim Clarke the parish administrator, 203 272 4041.
The Rev. Sandy Stayner
